“ I believe each and every one of us lives with a certain level of trauma, addiction, and negligence of self-care or self-love. As a person in recovery and living with a neurological disorder, I know the positive impact yoga can have for the body, soul, and connection to a Higher Power.”
Trinity Hamilton led a successful career spanning two decades as a professional dancer with the Joffrey Ballet and
Cirque du Soleil. While working with the Joffrey Ballet, she was diagnosed with Narcolepsy. This diagnosis was changed to Narcolepsy with Cataplexy two years later, when Trinity began to experience the loss of muscle control and motor functions both on and off the stage. Losing confidence in her body and the art form she pursued since the age of four, she began her first serious struggle with alcoholism.
She was later blessed to find Dr. Neil Feldman in St. Petersburg, Florida and was given a second chance to dance professionally under his care. Five years later, she was invited to audition for Cirque du Soleil and received the role as "La Belle" and "La Femme" in the Las Vegas resident show, Mystere.
Upon retirement in 2017, she began her yoga journey, receiving the following certifications:
200-hour Vinyasa Instructor - Samadhi Yoga Studio, Denver, Colorado
Adaptive yoga & Advanced Studies -
Mind Body Connections Certificate, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Yoga for 12-step recovery (Y12SR),
Naperville, Illinois
Mental Health Awareness Certificate, Anjali Yoga Teacher Training
After hitting her rock bottom, Trinity began her journey of recovery with the incredible love and support of her friends and family. Now thriving as a yoga instructor, artist, and speaker for recovery, she is passionate to bring that same hope and support to others struggling with their challenges throughout the Chicagoland area.
